Release Date: November 08, 2009

The EBDC Business Social event held on Tuesday, October 20th was very successful with a large turnout - we had nearly 250 RSVPs!

Attendees included the Mayor Frank DelCore, the other four Township Committee people (Bob Wagner, Carl Suraci, Gloria McCauley and Anthony Ferrera), Assemblyman Pete Biondi, Township Administrator Kevin Davis, Chief of Police Paul Kaminsky and Building Department Director Ron Skobo.

Royce Brook as always, put on a fabulous spread of hot and cold foods both buffet style and hand carried by their staff.

EBDC Chairman Shawn Lipani was the Master of Ceremonies for the night and did his usualoustanding job.

Mayor Frank Del Core spoke to the business people about his Economic Action Plan which he introduced in January and how it has made the Township more business friendly.  The Regulatory Oversight Working Group which he created has recommended about 15 new ordinances which have approved bt the Township Committee.  This has helped to reduce regulatory costs and red tape and increased economic development opportunities for businesses with selected zoning  changes.

Assemblyman Biondi discussed the political situation in Trenton focusing on the state's budget, spending and taxes.

The guest speaker was local businessman Stephen G Brilliant MS CPA who talked about tax issues and developments and how they impact small businesses and what business owners can do to help themselves.

A highlight of the night was a performance by 6 students from the LYNN Academy of Irish Dance.  They danced to rousing applause by the attendees.  LYNN has recently relocated in Hillsborough (3 Jill Court) from Cherry Hill and is owned by by Maureen Collins who is a former performer with Riverdance.  One of her students, Katherine Cassidy, is ranked 8th in the world and will be competing for the U.S. In the upcoming world championships.  She did a solo routine that brought the house down.

Plaques were awarded by the EBDC to Danny Di Meglio, the owner of Victor's Pizza (Amwell Mall) for his 20 years of outstanding community service.
