Hillsborough's Amboy Bank Branch Becomes 1st Constitution Bank
Cranbury based 1st Constitution Bancorp through its subsidiary 1st Constitution Bank announced on March 25th that it closed on the acquisition of the Hillsborough, Rocky Hill and Hopewell branch offices of Amboy Bank.
Each office will open as a 1st Constitution Bank branch effective March 28th.
The Amboy Bank signs were removed and replaced with 1st Constitution Bank signs.

Grand Opening Held

Spoon & Sprout Cafe
Owners Geetha and Ramesh Jayaraman celebrated the Grand Opening of their Spoon & Sprout Café in Kingsbridge Center (378 South Branch Road (at the intersection with Amwell Road and Beekman Lane) in Hillsborough.
The café specializes in healthy and vegetarian foods. Hillsborough's Mayor Gloria McCauley joined the festivities and had the honor of cutting the ribbon.
For the Jayaraman's this is their second Hillsborough business. About 2 years ago they opened Grab Em Snacks in Valley Park (216 Route 206 South) for the distribution of their health conscious plantain chips which is still going full blast.

"G Italian Gourmet" Opens
Cesare Lubrano's "G Italian Gourmet" opened today in Hillsborough Plaza (390 Route 206 South. Ceasare also owns Café Graziella which is in the adjacent unit.

G Italian Gourmet is more casual with pizza, sandwiches, salads, appetizers and desserts. Café Graziella is a white linen upscale Italian dining experience.

Hillsborough Township's first Indian restaurant, Divine Curry, held their Grand Opening on Wednesday, Dec. 23rd at 5:00 PM in Kingsbridge Center (378 South Branch Road; Building 1/Unit1). This unit was previously occupied by Mexican restaurant Old El Paso.
Owners Dhirja Gangopadhyay, Poonam Misra and Pavan Kumar performed the ribbon cutting with Hillsborough's Mayor Frank DelCore. The guests were treated to an Indian buffet including food prepared in a Tandoor oven.

Stellar Academy's Grand Opening
Held Saturday, Dec. 12th
Guests attending included Hillsborough Township Mayor Frank DelCore, Steve Cohen of Prudential New Jersey Properties who brought Stellar Academy to this location, Joseph K. Barbara, President & CEO of Grace Construction, Bill Skala of TD Bank which financed the project and of course Santa Claus.
Stellar Academy at 51 Route 206 North (formerly Park’s Nursery) had its Grand Opening yesterday. The hosts were owners and sisters Maggie Buley, Ph.D. (Education Director) and Mary Matthews (Business Director). They opened their first Stellar Academy in Bridgewater over 5 years ago. They hope to start classes for infants up to kindergarten age children on January 4th. They hope to eventually have enrolled about 225 children with a staff of about 65 employees. The magnificent academy is about 26,500 square feet and was built by Grace Construction of out of Cherry Hill, NJ.

3M to Silvi Group’s
On June 17th, the Silvi Group acquired the 3M quarry property in Hillsborough and Montgomery. Its new name is Gibraltar Rock of Belle Mead.

Mueve & B Fit, a Zumba Studio and more held their Grand Re-Opening on Wednesday, April 1st. They moved from their previous location which was located within Maximum Fitness to 409 Route 206 Suite B in Hillsborough (behind the Taco Bell).
Their grand re-opening ran from 5 pm - 8pm which featured a Zumba class from 6 - 7, refreshments, chair massage provided by Massage Envy, Satin hand treatments, a raffle to give away a free punch card good for ten free classes and special class rates offered.

A Grand Opening Celebration Event was held at the Skin Laser & Surgery Specialists in their new Hillsborough, NJ office on November 13, 2008. The objective was to share the commitment we have to beauty by introducing the most advanced cosmetic treatments to Hillsborough and its surrounding communities. We presented many cosmetic industry leaders, introduced the newest innovations in skincare, and enjoyed mingling with our visitors.
Aloha Mind Math held their Grand Opening on March 29th at 10 a.m. They are located in the Towne Center, 438 Route 206 South, Suite 11.

The event started as Anthony Ferrera, the Mayor of Hillsborough, and Gene Strupinksy, the Hillsborough's Business Advocate, (both pictured below) came for the Ribbon Cutting Ceremony. Also present were many enthusiastic local media representatives. It was an exciting evening of celebration and fun!

Learning Express of Hillsborough is promoting Jon Cassino to become the manager of the new Learning Express store in Branchburg. He assumed his duties managing the specialty toy store February 1st, in preparation for the Grand Opening the weekend of February 29.
Jon has an Associates Degree in Business from Raritan Valley Community College and was a graduate of Montgomery High School. He has worked for Learning Express in Hillsborough for 2 1/2 years and currently resides in Lambertville.
